Born in the USA, he and his wife moved to New Zealand in January 2004 and have lived in Wellington since 2008. Though he has a BA in English, Peter worked for over 25 years as a machinist. This included 19 years providing technical support to the Physics Department at the University of California (Davis), and later at the Institute of Fundamental Sciences, Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand. At Massey he also studied journalism and wrote for publications in the US and in New Zealand. In October 2019, after eight years’ research and writing on the subject, his book “Rottenomics—the Story of New Zealand’s Leaky Buildings Disaster” was published.
