#064 - Shore | Kaz PS on The Halcyon | Wildflowers

Nick kicks things off this week with an album recommendation. “Shore” by Fleet Foxes was released in time for Fall last month, but is a surprisingly brighter sounding record. We discuss frontman Robin Pecknold’s new found optimism and whether Jay is allowed to like something so central to Pitchfork’s aesthetic.Song: Fleet Foxes - “Jara”Next up, we have a special guest this week! Kaz PS co-wrote, directed and shot “The Halcyon”, which was released on the sci-fi shorts channel Dust. The film, co-written and co-scored by our very own Greg Loman, was picked up by Dust to be included as part of a collection of post-apocalyptic short films. When that fell through, Dust was cool enough to put out “The Halcyon” as a featured release on their YouTube channel, but didn’t include any context or explanation about the genre discrepancy. So a decent number of Dust’s most loyal sci-fi loving fans chose to express their confusion and outrage via the comments. So, Nick & Jay decided to read some of them on the show to give Kaz & Greg a chance to respond.
