Welcome to another podcast in our occasional series – Director on Director. Writer / Director Phil Stubbs (Last Chancers) joins us again, to talk about another of his favourite directors, Tim Burton. Join us on a journey that starts with Tim's early days at Disney and ends with .... Tim's recent time at Disney. This is a journey that starts with imaginative characters set in fantastical worlds and gradually, over the years devolves into corporate pleasing, sequels and soulless remakes. During our discussion we draw a line in Tim Burton's filmography where we think things started to go stale. The journey ends on a "bit of a downer" but the masterpieces of the 80's and 90's are discussed in full.
