A Miami MLS franchise fronted by Jorge Mas and David Beckham is asking the City of Miami Commission to place a special "no-bid" deal charter amendment onto the November ballot. There is a public meeting about it on Thursay, July 12th with public comment starting at noon in Miami's City Hall at 3500 Pan American Drive. I spoke Channel 10 sports anchor Will Manso about the MLS team's proposal, after his interview with frontman Jorge Mas and about the team's ownership and the numerous other alternatives that Beckham's group has explored to no avail. Then, Director BIlly Corben joined me for a free ranging conversation about the Miami MLS soccer proposal and why he is firmly opposed to Thursday's vote.
