07 - Bend it Like Lizardlon (Kamen Rider Ep 13)

Go, Go, Kamen Rider!Kamen Rider hits the big screen! Well, sorta. Your intrepid hosts Travis and Nathan spend an entire episode of Henshin Men discussing one episode of Kamen Rider (1971) because it’s a momentous one. At one point, it might’ve been the last episode of the series (and the franchise?), so Toei pulled out all the stops! Shocker resurrects all of their fallen kaijin and creates Tokageron (or Lizardlon…or “Bootleg Godzilla”…or “The Gorn’s Cousin”) as the group’s leader. But in order to fight this “Evil Eleven,” the suspiciously absent and now always costumed Takeshi Hongo must train to defeat them by punching mountains and dodging foam rocks thrown by Tachibana. Is it any wonder this was actually released theatrically as the first ever Kamen Rider movie?
