Définie comme une construction institutionnelle et médiatique d’une identité blanche majoritaire, la blanchité est un terme utilisé depuis longtemps dans les sciences sociales aux États-Unis alors qu’il est complètement ignoré en France. Minorités visibles contre majorité invisible : s’interroger sur la blanchité permet de dénaturaliser une norme qui paraît encore neutre pour beaucoup. Pourquoi, en France, la majorité ne s’identifie-t-elle pas comme blanche, alors que l’expression « racisme anti-blanc » est de plus en plus employée ? Comment la blanchité opère-t-elle au quotidien ? Est-elle automatiquement liée à l’apparence ?
