Im Mai 2015 veröffentlichen Tocotronic ihr rotes Album. Es ist ein Album über Liebe, Solidarität und die Öffnung von Grenzen. Kurz darauf öffnet Deutschland tatsächlich die Grenzen. Im sogenannten Flüchtlingssommer 2015 geht ein Ruck der Solidarität durch Deutschland. Die Stimmung in Europa kippt allerdings schnell, statt Willkommenskultur ist schon bald der Rechtspopulismus auf dem Vormarsch. Wie geht die Band damit um? Und wie reagiert sie auf das Outing von Arne, der seine Suchtprobleme öffentlich macht?

And here I am a stranger to everything - an enemy to everything.Enemy of Soviets - electrified autumn melancholy and romantic sadness post-punk revival, which is filled with sincere emotions and genuine honesty to himself. English-language lyrics, ringing like a pain guitar and humming like a call of conscience synthesizer filled with philosophical irony and melancholic mood of the truth of life.The main author of the songs for the Enemy of Soviets is Artyom Chepurnykh. The main thread through all the texts are reflections on the relationship between a man and a woman, not lacking depressive moods and philosophical irony. The band is not restricted to the conventional and banal thoughts on this topic. Inspiration Artyom finds in his own life, so the lyrics could be called autobiographical.

This album has been a passion project since 2018 when I set out to assemble a collection of remixes and re-imaginations of the song that started it all, Chemical Imbalance, by some of favorite producers and artist. In 1987 I developed one of the most important friendships of my lifetime. Al Jourgensen and I became fast friends when Ministry played the Cave Club in Austin, Tx where I had been establishing an audience devoted to industrial music and the sound of Wax Trax records. It wasn't long after that Jourgensen would ask me to get a band to open for Ministry's Land of Rape and Honey tour. Hence Skatenigs were born and so was Chemical Imbalance. Al would produce the first iteration for the Chicago based label.
