07 The Heart of Temptation, Gen 2:16,17; 3:1-13

What takes place in our passage of Scripture for this episode is one of the most important events in all of human history. God's initial plan for the human race was ruined by their deliberate rebellion against Him. Because of this event, a rebellious force entered into every child descended from this couple, and this inclination to rebellion has resulted in an incomprehensible amount of suffering. By examining the sins of Eve and then Adam, we will recognize some remarkably familiar attitudes. The processes that led them to sin are the same processes that lead us to sin today. Hopefully, the value we will gain is that we will be less easily drawn Into these same attitudes when we're tempted in the future.
