Amber Kinsey, Evie Litwok, Katie Ross and Jessica Smith join Julie Deem to have a conversation about the prevalence of domestic and sexual violence. Learn more about the population that it affects and the prevalence of the issue, along with other things, including how we are helping in our community of Kokomo, Indiana. Amber shares her story as a domestic violence survivor. She is actively involved with the USW organization and is in charge of advocating and fundraising for our local domestic violence shelter here in Kokomo, Indiana. Evie shares her story as a survivor of sexual violence in the prison system. She shares how the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) is not doing enough to protect inmates. The goal of this episode is to start the conversations and bring awareness to the greater picture. This is an issue everywhere.
