In 1622 viel een polder tussen Purmerend, Edam en Monnickendam droog. Het werd landbouwgebied, maar vanaf de tweede helft van de twintigste eeuw werd er gebouwd op Purmerends grondgebied. Volgend jaar viert de Purmer haar 400-jarig bestaan. Het comité Purmer 400 is opgericht om alles rond het jubileumjaar te coördineren. Ik spreek in deze aflevering met Danny Schouten, voorzitter van de stichting.
