078 - Enjoying a Rosé of Sangiovese and a Syrah from Barnard Griffin

from Wine Time Fridays Podcast · host Phil

In this episode, Shelley and Phil taste wine from an old friend, Barnard Griffin. The Rosé of Sangiovese is a wine they drink quite often in the summer while the Syrah is one they haven’t had as often. Barnard Griffin wines are fairly easy to find, if you live in the Pacific Northwest and easy on your wallet so you should pick up one or both and taste them along with Shelley and Phil. #HappyFriday! #ItsWineTime! #CheersingWines tasted this episode:2020 Barnard Griffin Rosé of Sangiovese ($10.50 at Fred Meyer)2018 Barnard Griffin Syrah ($15 at Safeway)For more information about Barnard Griffin, please visit https://barnardgriffin.comThanks to our sponsor: The Culinary StoneThe Culinary Stone. On wine labels it is used to denote wine of a specific blend or batch. Wine makers use the term cuvée with several different meanings, more or less based on the concept of a tank of wine put to some purpose. The Wine Spectator says that, outside of bubbly, cuvée refers to a particular blend of a wine, and typically of more than one grape variety. It's a fancy-sounding word, so sometimes it's used to indicate a wine of superior quality or a special reserve, but the term is not regulated, so that's not always the case.Mentions: Dave Adlard, Longshadows WineryWines we enjoyed this week:  Hilanda Monastrell, Clearwater Canyon Estate Rose’ of Syrah, Charles Frey Symbiose Pinot Gris, (of course) J.
