079 - Gospel of Matthew (Matthew 23:29-39)

Jesus addresses the religious leaders with the final of the "seven woes." The Pharisees and scribes attest that had they lived centuries prior, they would not have killed prophets as their ancestors did. This 20/20 hindsight partnered with pride often leads people to presume they're smarter, more enlightened, wiser, nicer, than those who came before. Yet, Christ affirms that the hearts of man are the same they've been since Eden. Only Christ changes that in a person. So, be careful as you look down from your high horse on those in the past. There's much to learn here.
