08: Archie’s Party with Ron Dante & Toni Wine

In this episode we’re revisiting the first ever Cowsill’s tour as a family, flying out to Los Angeles to stay and perform at the Century City Plaza. We reminisce about the games we played, competitions we started, and the trouble we would get into on the road.We have Ron Dante and Toni Wine on the show, and you may not know them by name, but you definitely know them by voice. They’re the anonymous vocals behind the fictional band, The Archies. The animated cartoon phenomenon that put out records that achieved worldwide success, including one of their greatest hits, “Sugar, Sugar”!As the youngest performers on Don Kirshner's label, just 13 and 14 years old, they sang back up for many bands, cartoons, tv and radio commercials throughout the 60s and 70s. We’re talking to them about what it was like growing up together in the music business and how they felt about their anonymity!
