08. You shall not steal

You shall not steal. Easy to tick off, most of us haven't stolen a car. But the eighth commandment reaches further than we'd like. Deceptive business practices, greed, wasteful misuse of what God has given us, gambling, hoarding. All of it falls under the same root problem: failing to trust that God provides. This message from Exodus 20 and Matthew 6 takes the commandment into everyday life: apps, gambling, the things we accumulate, the stuff that crowds out Jesus, and makes a simple case: sometimes the most faithful thing you can do is turn it off.Part of the Ten Commandments series at Soul Revival Church.
