083: Covers Vol. II - Metal and Thrash Cover Songs Volume II

from Metal Nerdery Podcast · host Metal Nerdery Podcast

It feels like being back in the basement, rehearsing a set for an upcoming gig.  For anyone who’s ever been in a band, one of the first things you learn is how to play someone else’s songs.  Covers.  There is not a Metal band in existence that has NEVER played cover songs by their favorite artists at some point in their careers.  The awesome thing about covers is the “interpretation”, much in the same way a chef may “interpret” a particular dish (let’s say fried chicken; wow that actually sounds delicious, doesn’t it? Or maybe a fried chicken burrito? HFS, I think I’m a genius, as that too also sounds delicious! Follow me for more subliminal messages regarding food.  Oh yeah…sorry (ahem)) ‘an artist may choose…’ In 3…2…1…), an artist may choose to replicate the song precisely or “reimagine” the song, making it completely something of their own “vision”.  BOLTH of which we here at Metal Nerdery enjoy with immensely commensurate gratitude.  What we’re saying is we dig covers.  Muchly.   Grab another handful of units of your favoritist relaxer, turn on the “OOO”, get ready for The Rib Lounge Dancers (on Zoom) and JOIN US in for our Cover-to-Cover Coverage of Metal Covers Covered…or just Metal Covers, Vol. II.   Visit www.metalnerdery.com/podcast for more on this episode Leave us a Voicemail to be played on a future episode: 980-666-8182 Metal Nerdery Tees and Hoodies – metalnerdery.com/merch and kindly leave us a review and/or rating on the iTunes/Apple Podcasts - Spotify or your favorite Podcast app Listen on iTunes, Spotify, Podbean, Google Play or wherever you get your Podcasts.
