085 - Track Marshal, Marshall

Welcome to the new year Midfielders! It's the offseason, so you know what that means, it's time to reach into our bag of friends and bring on the guests! Up first is our bud Marshall the Marshal! No seriously, it took Patrick a good bit to get his head around it too. It's his name, AND his job. Well, volunteer side gig, but still super-cool nonetheless! As always with a first guest, we get the history. The origin story of our new friend's race fandom. From an early age, Marshall's been clued in; to the ins and outs of the ins and outs on the track. Over 365 days in his Marshaling logbook, he gives us lowdown on what's a good/bad day for a track marshal, some of his favorite racing memories, and what it takes to BE a track marshal. Where do we even find such cool guests? On threads of course! @midfieldpod is always active on all our social media accounts, as well as much post-race discourse and discussions with people like Marshall, and many others! Join us and @dblwavedyellow and share your thoughts and opinions now! We had a great time meeting Marshall, and look forward to tapping his knowledge-keg when we need rule/FIA clarifications. If you're interested in learning how YOU can become a Marshall, click the link below and it will take you to the information Marshall discussed in the episode. The sport is in dire need of young race fans, who want to do a little work, and get to see some awesome racing in the process. You too can help keep racing fun and alive from the ground floor on up! Thanks again for listening and be sure to stay tuned in during the offseason, as we'll be bringing you more fun and interesting guests as often as we can! As always, race hard and keep it clean!
