Called To Be Holy 1 Peter 1:13-16 ESV 13 Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, 15 but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”  I. Live Like You’re Born Again! II. Therefore Verse 13. Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.  Think Before You Act.  Being Holy: 1) Set apart from ungodliness 2) Pursuing God’s highest purpose for your life.  III. Do Not Be Conformed Vs. 14, As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance. Paul brings up the same topic.  Romans 12:1-2, ESV says, I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Christ’s Kingdom Is Not Of This World Vs. 13 says, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
