09 | Learn Better With F.A.S.T.

I never learned "How" to learn in school... So I have been out digging for information on this topic... F.A.S.T. is an awesome acronym that I heard from Jim Kwik that has helped me a lot...  I hope it saves you a ton of time! Let's break it down... F - Forget   The goal here is to temporarily Forget what you already know about the subject you are learning. You want to be completely focused and open minded to the new information. Also, forget about hard situations in your life and your limitations. Behavior is belief driven, so you have to believe you can execute on the information you are receiving! A - Active Being active includes asking questions, creating an experience from the learning environment, taking notes, sharing, etc. This also includes spending time with the people you are learning from. People you spend the most time with are who you become. You want to be challenged by the people around you. Keep in mind that your mind is a muscle, so if you don't use it then you will lose it. Put yourself in situations where you feel out of your comfort zone so you can grow. S -  State Information + Emotion = Long-Term Memory. This is why I love events. Plus, Stephan is incredible at getting people in the correct state for learning... and buying 😉 One way you can get in "state" is by listening to music. T - Teach This is the fastest way to learn a new skill. If you're coming to OfferMind, you can crank out a few podcast episodes teaching what you have learned so far. You can also teach your friend, dog, etc. Just find someone!! So while you are sitting at the event, learn for two. Learn with the goal to teach it back to someone.  Now go teach this to someone as F.A.S.T. as possible lol
