09 // Soaking Scripture 15-min Sleep Meditation | Goodness of God

from Firmly Planted | Restore Peace through Biblical Meditation & Yoga as a Midlife Mom · host Laurie Hugdahl - Christian Yoga Teacher, Holistic Health Coach

If your mind is busy tonight, or you’ve woken up and can’t fall back asleep, come soak in the goodness of God. We’ll breathe slowly, release the noise, and let Scripture wash over you until your body remembers it’s safe to rest. Best time to listen: in bed, lights low, volume soft *** Do not listen while driving! *** What this is for: Racing thoughts at bedtime Waking up in the middle of the night Anxiety, sadness, or mental spirals Needing comfort that feels personal, not performative Scriptures used: Psalm 34:8:  “Taste and see that the LORD is good.” Psalm 100:5:  “For the LORD is good…” Nahum 1:7:  “The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble.” James 1:17: “Every good and perfect gift is from above…” Lamentations 3:22-23: “His compassions never fail; they are new every morning.” Psalm 145:9: “The LORD is good to all…” Exodus 34:6: “compassionate and gracious… abounding in love.” Psalm 23:6: “Surely your goodness and love will follow me…” If you fall asleep, that’s perfect. If you set the sleep timer on your phone to 15 minutes it will end at just the right time. The last few minutes is just soft instrumental music. If you want this to go on longer than 15 minutes, head over to YouTube and loop the video and/or adjust the sleep timer there. The instructions will be in the video description. Next steps Follow the podcast so you don’t miss the upcoming guided practices for better sleep, less anxiety, stress relief, and gentle, faith-based movement.
