098: Tips to Stop Comparing Yourself to Others

from Do Life Big · host Kathi Reuter

In today's Do Life Big Podcast episode, we're tackling a big one: how to stop playing the comparison game. You know the drill – we all fall into this trap, especially with social media constantly in our faces. But here's the kicker: comparison is the thief of joy. We’ve all been there, scrolling through Instagram and suddenly feeling less than because someone else's life looks perfect. But remember, it's just a highlight reel, not the full story. I shared a personal story about seeing these picture-perfect moments online and thinking, "Who has the time for this?" 🤔 It’s important to keep in mind that what we see isn't always reality. Tony Robbins said it best: your life’s quality depends on three decisions you make every second of every day: what you focus on, what it means, and what you're going to do about it. So let’s dive into some conscious steps to break free from comparison: 1️⃣ Act the way you want to feel: Even if it feels forced, faking it till you make it can help rewire your brain. 🌟2️⃣ Get to work: Comparison often means you're not focusing on your own tasks. Head down, hustle up! 💪3️⃣ Identify triggers: Ask yourself what specifically made you feel jealous. There’s usually something deeper to address.🕵️‍♀️4️⃣ Measure progress by how far you've come: Instead of focusing on where you think you should be, celebrate the distance you've already covered. 🎉 Remember, comparison only hinders your growth.
