1.07 Beginning the Sabbath
from Sabbath Slowdown · host Rachel A.
Taking a day off each week and being intentional about rest and relationship on this day is great. It will help you be a better version of yourself. Have you heard of living your best life? Sabbath does that for you. But I also want Sabbath to benefit the rest of your family. What would remind you to slow down when it’s time to slow down? If you made a giant cookie in a cast iron skillet? What about lighting candles around the house? Could you play calming music and do some stretching on the living room floor? Could you read together with blankets and hot cocoa? Many cultural traditions throughout history observed rhythms and traditions like the Sabbath. They were a means of worship or relationship, sometimes a connection to the natural world, a coming of age practice, or a holiday or festival. // Show Notes // To Hell with the Hustle Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie “Animal Study” Articles by Me OUTLOOK magazine Kingdom Edge magazine What I Believe about Sabbath The Sabbath Your Special Day with God
