1 - 09 Been Gone
from kamp on Soundcloud Hosted by Katleho Sekhoto
Produced by Katleho Sekhoto This song is close to my heart and listening to it years after I worked on it brings such nostalgia. It represents a generation of black children that grew up without fathers, or some like myself, who did not stay with their father though he was present. The importance of father is a Childs life is equivalent to a mothers and there's a subtle perpetration of a black father not being around, the media doesn't help to rewrite the story and though many of young fathers of my generation are present in the lives of their young, loving so, there is a disturbing norm about the absence of father. This song song should not be confused for "father bashing" as it is expected but should be listened to the last word on verse 2, that is where the whole story makes sense. Let's build.
