1.10. Simplicity on the Sabbath

from Sabbath Slowdown Hosted by Rachel A.

So many of our rhythms of life are overwhelming. Instead of being sweet and simple, they end up being stressful and jarring. Christmas, for instance. There is so much potential for peace and calm, but instead we run around crazy, busying ourselves with many things that don’t matter all that much. The same is true of holidays off and vacations. We could relax and spend time with our families, but we spend a lot of money and stress out with a lot of planning. Could we camp in the woods instead of going to Legoland again? Yes. Could we stay home and play board games instead of planning a trip or throwing a neighborhood bbq ? Yes. This is true of the Sabbath too, friends. // Show Notes // Homemade Strawberry Shortcake Ten BeautifuL Spring Poems Articles by Me OUTLOOK magazine Kingdom Edge magazine What I Believe about Sabbath The Sabbath Your Special Day with God To Hell with the Hustle by Jefferson Bethke The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer #SabbathSlowdown articles by Rachel Ashworth
