While Christ performed physical miracles, he did so primarily as signs of the spiritual healing he truly came to bring—the removal of sin. We must resist the temptation to "use" God to solve our worldly problems or avoid suffering, as faith is meant to be a deep relationship of mutual self-giving rather than a transaction.
