(Première partie) Le samedi 5 février 2000, deux amis se sont donnés rendez-vous pour chasser dans une zone boisée à environ 30 kilomètres de Paris, dans le Val-d’Oise, à Eragny-sur-Oise. En fin de journée, accompagnés de leur chien, font la découverte d’un corps humain totalement calciné.Le deux hommes appellent immédiatement la police qui parvient quelques jours plus tard, grâce au rapport d’autopsie, à identifier la victime. Il s’agit de Joël Deprez, 39 ans, porté disparu depuis le 21 janvier. Pourquoi cet homme est-il mort ? A-t-il voulu se suicider ?
