(Premier épisode) En 2015, un couple de britanniques, David Hendy et Sandra Clifton, s’installe dans un hameau, composé d’une trentaine d’habitations et situé dans la commune de Vidaillat, dans la Creuse.Mais leur comportement intrigue le voisinage. La femme du couple, Sandra, vit recluse chez elle : à part pour jeter les poubelles, elle ne sort jamais de la maison et ne parle à personne. Les voisins commencent alors à mener leur propre enquête mais ils ne trouvent aucune information sur eux. Ils finissent par découvrir que David Hendy n’est pas celui qu’il prétend être.
