1/2 Social Legacy Leadership: Emily Chang

from The Dov Baron Show · host Dov Baron

As a leader today, if you have not considered what your legacy is, or at least could be? Without a Legacy project, you are going to find it very hard to lead a Millennial workforce and pretty much impossible to lead Gen-Z. That being said, you're busy. There are deadlines and shareholder meetings. Everyone is pulling at you. So, how can you find out what your legacy is, as a human and as a leader? Well, that's where we are going, so stay tuned. Our guest for the next two episodes is Emily Chang. Emily is the CEO of McCann Worldgroup, one of the Big Four global marketing firms, with an integrated network of advertising agencies in over 120 countries. She is a seasoned executive who has worked with some of the world's most renowned companies like Procter & Gamble, Apple, and Starbucks. Over the last twenty-two years, Emily's job has brought her and her family to eight different homes across USA and China. Everywhere she's lived, Emily has found herself at the unique intersection of what she terms, her Offer and Offense. Life has served up young people who have been abused, neglected or marginalized, to find sanctuary in her spare room. Among her deeply personal accounts, Emily shares heart-wrenching stories of an emotionally abused child bride, rescuing a dying baby boy, and the abused daughter of a local prostitute. With the sixteen young people she and her family have cared for, Emily has found that living into her Social Legacy has not only deeply enriched her home life, it has also enabled her to become a more authentic and relatable leader in the workplace. The depth of these stories is covered in a long-form, heart-wrenching and truly inspiring interview Emily did with us on Curiosity Bites.
