Fr. Joseph Dalimata, FSSP serves as Parochial Vicar at Immaculate Conception Church in El Paso, Texas. He was ordained in May of 2021.   In Today's Show When engaging in youth ministry, do you feel that smaller or larger groups of students work best? Is there any reason for that? Why do you feel so many children and young adults seem to lose their faith as soon as it is no longer being "force fed" to them? What can we do to reverse the trend? What is the best way to discipline children who aren't at the age of reason? I'm wondering if you can suggest any "must-have" books or supplemental materials that I should be using as the instructor of a Catholic youth group? How do I know when my child is at the proper age to begin participating in youth ministry activities? Is there any such thing as "too young?" How involved are parents expected to be in their children's youth formation? Is living a devout Catholic life and setting a good example enough? Would there be any noticeable difference between a youth formation group at a Novus Ordo parish vs. a TLM parish, or is it all just Catholic at the end of the day? Would there be a different approach to the types of the topics being discussed? What types of activities would you recommend for Catholic youth outside of the traditional classroom setting?
