MLB legend and five-time Allstar Larry Bowa who won a world series both as a player and then as a coach joins the show on the Farm Bureau guest line. Bo asks Larry about his start in baseball, and the Philadelphia Phillies Wall of Famer says he was cut three times from his high school team because of his size. He got signed to JUCO through summer ball and from there worked his way to the minors then the majors. Never thought about quitting because of his dad who was a minor league player with over 2,000 hits and never got drafted. Bo asked him when he realized he could have a career, and Larry said it was in the minor leagues. He was told he could be a major league utility player, but if he could learn to switch-hit, he would be an everyday player in AAA, so that is what he did and hit around .270-.280 as a switch-hitter.
