As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away.(2) Scripture lists particular gifts as intended to be signs of Jesus and Apostolic ministry, and are not mentioned in later Epistlesa. Hebrews 2:3–4 (ESV) —3 how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was declared at first by the Lord, and it was attested to us by those who heard, 4 while God also bore witness by signs and wonders and various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.(3) Signs of healing and miracles have a particular place in God’s Revelation of himself to us.a. God does not repeat in every generation signs and wonders but calls remembrance of his faithfulness (Joshua 4:6—7)b.
