1 Corinthians 2-3
from Riverside Reading Plan Hosted by Riverside Church
Paul's ministry among the Corinthians deliberately avoided eloquent wisdom to demonstrate that faith rests on God's power rather than human persuasion, though he does speak wisdom among the spiritually mature. His teaching about the Spirit revealing divine truth to believers while remaining hidden from natural understanding explains why the gospel appears foolish to unbelievers. The description of church leaders as servants working together in God's field and building warns against the pride and rivalry that create divisions, with each person's work ultimately tested by divine fire.
