1 Corinthians 9-10
from Daily Devotional With Murphy Eyenike Hosted by Murphy Eyenike
Living as a double agent! That is how you describe how some Christians live; they live for God during the day, and in the night, they live for the flesh. They are hot and cold at the same time. They want to eat from the Lords table and from the table of demons, at the same time. Paul says that should not be; it is equivalent to trying to provoke God to jealousy. You cannot drink from the cup of the Lord and from the cup of demons, too. You cannot eat at the Lord’s Table and at the table of demons, too. What? Do we dare to rouse the Lord’s jealousy? Do you think we are stronger than he is? You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is beneficial. Don’t be concerned for your own good but for the good of others. 1 Corinthians 10:21-24 NLT. You are not a double agent, you are a role model, called to represent the Lord and to show forth his glory.
