1 Corinthians Chapters 1-3

In this episode, we begin 1 Corinthians by reading chapters 1 through 3, where Paul addresses division within the church. Believers were aligning themselves with different leaders, creating conflict and disunity, but Paul reminds them that their foundation is not in human leaders, but in Christ alone. He emphasizes the message of the cross, which may seem foolish to the world but is the power and wisdom of God to those who believe. Paul also contrasts worldly wisdom with spiritual wisdom, teaching that true understanding comes through the Holy Spirit. In chapter 3, Paul describes believers as God’s building and emphasizes that Jesus Christ is the only true foundation. Leaders are simply servants, and each person’s work will be tested. 1 Corinthians 1–3 reminds us to stay unified in Christ, value God’s wisdom over the world’s, and build our lives on the only foundation that truly lasts.
