1 Kings 14-15 | Fear, Faith, and the Fall of Kings

Pastor Jared teaches through 1 Kings 14–15, the story of Jeroboam, the first king of the divided northern kingdom of Israel. Jeroboam had a clear promise from God, but fear over losing the people's loyalty led him to build a counterfeit system of worship instead of trusting what God had already said. That choice cost him everything he was trying to protect. The passage also follows Judah's king Rehoboam, who fell into the same patterns as those around him, and young King Asa, who trusted God over his own logic even when doing right meant standing against his own family.
