Nichole dives deep into her story starting from entry level roles into leadership roles. She talks about her experience with sexual harassment and being perceived as "too social" or not qualified because of her looks. She shares about receiving vague feedback and continuous turn downs before she had someone who took a chance on her and knew what she was capable of. Once moving into a leadership position, she continued to face gossiping from co workers and team members who didn't welcome her with open arms. Nichole continued to push through with an underlying passion to serve those around her, knowing they would see her true intentions if she continued to serve her team and department. Two years into her new role, she was recruited to a new tech company coming to Utah and saw a great opportunity. She took a lateral move and a big risk, hoping it would pay off- and it did. Nichole took on additional projects to help out the team and was promoted to a manager title within 5 months and had amazing mentors who helped teach her so much in a very short time. Nichole helped with training, had a team of her own, managed the email team in the Philippines, she was involved with office wide recognition and helped roll out new tools to help track and measure each individuals success and contributions to the team. Nichole was laid off abruptly in March of 2017 and moved on to work for a Veteran owned company as a Customer Success Manager. There was a lot of discord and struggle to push forward which she realized this company would not be somewhere she worked long-term. After having her baby in December 2017, she decided not to go back to that position and heard of another opportunity that would work with her staying at home with her new daughter for the foreseeable future. She started taking on additional tasks and projects and took on a title as Business Manager, something similar but different as she was working with retail products. She helped to establish many company wide standard operating procedures as well as assisting in laying ground work for communication efforts to help this small business continue to grow. Nichole has felt for some time that she needed to help mentor and coach more women to overcome the obstacles and work through the difficult struggles quicker than she did on her own. She is excited for what the future holds and what she can contribute to others.
