#1 Niki de Saint Phalle, The Wheel of Fortune, and the Monomaniacal Focus Required for a Magnum Opus

In this episode, we consider the work of legendary French artist Niki de Saint Phalle, as well as 5 other incredible artists who seem to have been born with a pre-destined monomaniacal focus that allowed them to follow through on a magnum opus.  We dip briefly into great artists such as James Turrell, Alex Jordan, and Antoni Gaudí who commit to and dedicated large portions of their lives to large-scale works of art. The follow-through and single-mindedness required to deliver a masterwork that spans decades feels supernatural. Supernatural in the same way that the concept of fate and large-scale destiny is depicted in the tarot's number ten major arcana card: The Wheel of Fortune. So how do these people cultivate the will to follow through on their masterpieces? Or, maybe they don't cultivate it.
