Unsaved husbands needed to be “won” to Christ! When Peter said “if any obey not the word” he used “if” in a first-class conditional way. Unsaved husbands. The word “won,” near the end of verse 1, is “a missionary word.” This was the goal of the wives described in verses 1-6. These husbands did not know the Lord. They needed to be “won” to Christ! When Peter said “if any obey not the word” he used “if” in a first-class conditional way.
