1 Peter: Hope in Uncertain Times | Dependable Living in Uncertain Times

Peter starts his letter to the scattered exiles in ancient Turkey by giving a dependable identity. Identity helps people in the midst of their uncertainty and hopelessness. In the next part of the letter, Peter expands on their identity, telling them that they are holy, and out of their holy identity they are to live holy. Holy living honors Jesus, but it is dependable, too, able to see us through the trials and uncertainties of life.
