1 Samuel - Foundations of a Godly House - Look at The Book

In the book of First Samuel we read how the nation of Israel transitioned from a judgeship of loosely federated tribes into one nation. Samuel is a central character due to his integrity. He is the closest shadow of our Lord Christ so far in our reading due to the role he played in the formation of the Davidic kingdom and the fact that  Samuel was the only Prophet Priest-King aside from the mysterious Melchizedek we saw in Genesis.
