Spirit of the Constitution is a new series aimed at taking a look at the content within the U.S. Constitution, as well as the philosophies that produced it. As we examine the preamble, we emphasize that concepts such as: rights originate from God, not man; constitutional rights are being protected by the government, not invented by the government; general welfare is a concept that can be promoted after the creation of national security; and more.
