1 Timothy: Part 1

To the young evangelist, Timothy Paul said, “This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners of whom I am chief,” 1 Timothy 1:15.Welcome to our study of 1 Timothy. Timothy is a young evangelist who has been placed in the town of Ephesus to preach the gospel and to build up the Lord's church. Paul is writing to encourage Timothy along the lines of faithfulness to God and continuing in the doctrine of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.1 Timothy is all about church conduct. Unlike some books Timothy, Paul comes right out in 1 Timothy and tells us exactly why he is writing. The key verse and the thematic statement is found in 1 Timothy 3:14-15. Notice this with me what the Scripture says. “These things I write to you though I hope to come to you shortly, but if I am delayed I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of truth.”(The full transcript is available in the "Download Document" button above.)
