1 Timothy: Part 2

This is a faithful saying. "If a man desires the position of a bishop, "he desires a good work." 1 Timothy 3:1.Welcome to our study of 1 Timothy, chapters three through six. The book of 1 Timothy is all about proper church conduct. Paul said, "These things I write to you, though I hope to come to you shortly. But, if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth." 1 Timothy 3:14-15. Paul, right off the bat, tells Timothy, I'm writing, so that you can know how to conduct yourself. Church conduct then, would not just be limited to inside the assembly, it is in the doctrine we teach, it's in our prayer, and our dress, whether it's modest. It's in the qualification of elders (chapter three). It's in the work of the minister (chapter four). It's in our relation to, and treatment of widows, and whether we have love of money, in our life, or not.
