Faith is essential to pleasing God, and Hebrews 11:1-6 provides examples of people who displayed faith that pleased God. We must trust in God's promises and plans for us more than our own experiences and knowledge. Luke 7 tells the story of a Roman Centurion whose faith amazed Jesus. Philippians 2:13 tells us that God gives us the desire and power to do what pleases Him. We must not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that God's plans for us are to prosper us and give us hope.
