1-year-old girl dies in possible drowning at Kensington home, police say

Philadelphia police are investigating after officers found a baby girl unresponsive and she later died at the hospital. Authorities were called to a house on East Somerset Street, just off Kensington Avenue, not long after 7 p.m. Thursday. Officers found an unresponsive 1-year-old. Medics rushed her to nearby St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, where she was pronounced dead. Officials believe she drowned in the bathtub. Police said they found a tub in the second-floor bathroom that was filled with water, and there was water on the floor in the dining room below.
