10/02/17 - Jared Sexton Yates & Lauren Brook-Eisen - Miami Book Fair Authors

This episode of the Only in Miami Show features interviews with two premier authors who will be attending the Miami Book Fair on Miami Dade College's Wolfson Campus, Nov. 12-19, 2017 Jared Yates Sexton wrote "THE PEOPLE ARE GOING TO RISE LIKE THE WATERS UPON YOUR SHORE: A Story Of American Rage" about the 2016 election and the importance of emotion in our national politics. He's an Associate Professor of Creative Writing at Georgia Southern University, a writer, self-described Hoosier with previous work in the New York Times, Politico and the New Republic. Lauren-Brooke Eisen is Senior Counsel in the Brennan Center’s Justice Program where she focuses on improving the criminal justice process through legal reforms, specifically how the criminal justice system is funded. Eisen wrote the forthcoming book "Inside Private Prisons: An American Dilemma in the Age of Mass Incarceration," which will be published by the Columbia University Press in November 2017.
