10/1/25 4PM: “Universal Healthcare”

Dr. Ken begins Truth In The Afternoon with breaking the news of United Healthcare & Ascension’s failure to meet at the table on a new deal for the future. As Dr. Ken breaks down the issues and disagreements during the talks, he also focuses on the troubles that may occur for those under the system, posing the idea of Universal Health care for all in these troubling times. Further into the hour, Dr. Ken shares information from a study involving high schoolers being paid for their performance and attendance at a high school in the United States, questioning if this is necessary inside of the MPS school system to keep kids on the right path and take their education seriously, or if parents aren’t doing enough at home to stress the importance of education. Dr. Ken also highlights a donation from the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority to Howard University, and the tragic passing of the last Tuskegee Airman Lt. Col. George Hardy and his legacy as a soldier for his country.
