10/10/23 - Fr. Daniel Alloy, FSSP

from Ask A Priest Live · host The Station of the Cross

Fr. Daniel Alloy, FSSP has served as Parochial Vicar at Regina Caeli Parish in Houston, Texas since July of 2022. He was ordained in June of 2020.     In Today's Show My spouse and I were helping to deliver the Eucharist to the sick in the past. We don't anymore, but we have a few pyxes that are in the house. What is the proper way to return them?  We were given blessed oil in a plastic bottle. We used the oil up, but how do we dispose of the plastic, which probably still has traces of oil? Why does the Church seem to value virginity in women more than in men? Why are male saints classified by whether or not they were martyrs, while much more note is made of whether or not female saints were virgins? Are pre-nuptial agreements allowed by the Catholic Church? Can a US citizen marry another Catholic in the Philippines to get around the US divorce system? What do you think of the "What Would Jesus Do?" argument? We get a lot of rosaries in the mail from different sources. They are often cheaply made and break apart easily. How do we dispose of them, since most of them aren't worth repairing? How can I repair a second or third class relic? Does it need to be sent to Rome? What book or video, or what else, can I send my friend to get him to convert from Hinduism to Catholicism, or at least consider it? How does the Church look at marriages in the civil world? Are they valid? Also, if that marriage ends in a divorce, how does the Church look at that? How can the husband lead with the humility of Christ in a marriage, since the wife is supposed to submit to his "loving" authority? Can I pray to another person's guardian angel for conversion?   Visit the show page at thestationofthecross.com/askapriest to listen live, check out the weekly lineup, listen to podcasts of past episodes, watch live video, find show resources, sign up for our mailing list of upcoming shows, and submit your question for Father!
