Canon Michael Stein, ICKSP serves as Rector at Old St. Patrick Oratory in Kansas City, Missouri. More on Catholic annulment and divorce A religious education teacher has a young student whose parents are teaching him about other angels not listed in Catholic teaching or tradition. What can she do to help guide this child? Can you point to any specific examples of when the early Church turned to Rome for resolving problems and why? Could you explain why Jesus saying "You are the rock" refers specifically to Peter and not just to Peter's confession as the Orthodox believe? Should, or can, my parents prohibit me from discerning a marriage calling until I spend time discerning religious life? My human brain wrestles with how we went from Adam and Eve to the entire world population, how we know of these two people, etc. Can you help clarify what we believe? My priest only holds one hand over the bread and wine during Consecration.
