Yet, this terrifying act of justice comes with a way of deliverance: the Passover. Through the slaughtering of an innocent lamb, the smearing of it's blood over the door, and a feast of its flesh, the Israelites could hope to see salvation. All of this reminds us that when the dark midnight of sin comes upon us, the Lord prepares a meal in its place.
