The following podcast contains spoilers! Yes, we're talking spoilers, folks. So, listeners, you've been warned. If you don't want anything ruined about the newest movies I've just recently come out, then maybe wait until you've seen it, then come back.

That being said, enjoy the show! You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. Make me happy, and sky's a grey. You never know a day, how much I love you.

But please don't take my sunshine away! Do do do do do do! Welcome back, folks! Episode 10!

James, did you say episode 10? Episode 10! We're in the double motherfucking digits right now? Double digits, 1-0!

Shit, and we just thought this was a hobby. Just a hobby killing the game! Alright, fuck yeah, kids. We're back here once again.

And, you know, this week we were kind of off last week. James's way of doing some wedding shit. Wedding shit. We were gonna do some other stuff with...

I was sick actually last weekend, which I don't know if you know, like, when I was growing up like guys and stuff, and then you got busy with some wedding stuff. You know, life happens kids. And nothing new came out in the old life anyways. And nothing new was out there.

There was no new releases in Yolenife. I was only down for two days. Chris was sick. And yeah, so I had some liquid coming out of butt.

You know, that's the kind of all that against me. Got dang. We were gonna do a home feature review again, but we decided, you know, we're just gonna put it off the next week. We had a couple of new releases all at once.

This week we came out at Yolenife Theater, Valyrian, Baby Driver, and Annabelle to Creation. And, bam! We just thought, you know what, fuck it. We'll just regroup next weekend.

We'll come out strong. I'm gonna actually have this one out. Recording Wednesday night. I'm gonna have this out Thursday night.

So I'm gonna edit it tomorrow actually. Got dang, that's quick. I'm gonna do it real quick for you guys. That's quick.

So that way, by the time next week, movie comes out, we can record that and get back on schedule. So, yep. Exciting times. We didn't really feel like we were feeling Valyrian.

So we didn't do that. No. And Baby Driver, I want to see that. I want to hear that as well.

Really good things about two people that saw it this week and they're like, God damn, it's good. Fuckin, what's his name? The director. Blanken now.

He was gonna do Ant-Man. He did Shawn the Dead. Edgar. Edgar.

No, fuck off. Oh no. Edgar Wright. Edgar Wright.

He did Baby Driver. Stop that. He did Baby Driver. I want to do that.

But it's already, it came out late in the only. It's like four weeks after the fact. So we decided to go to the new blood with the new release and we went to see Annabelle Creation. Annabelle Creation, which is a sequel to Annabelle, which came on 2014.

Prequel. This is a prequel to Annabelle of 2014. Yeah, which is a prequel to. Uh, fuck.

The Conjuring, Conjuring 2. That's it. No, no, there's no. Oh yeah.

That's it. That's it. There's a fifth one coming out next year. Well, we'll get to that later.

You want to talk about the first Annabelle? I don't know if you remember that. Not too much before we got into this movie. So let's talk about Chris.

Okay, so this one, it focuses on a young couple. They're just starting their family. She, the woman, she's pregnant and you know, neighbors next door get killed. They get brought into it.

Satanic cultist, blah, blah. And eventually a doll gets infected with some crazy shit. I found out doing some research that I actually, it's called the Disciples of the Ram. Satanic cults.

And that'll get brought right around to Annabelle's. What the hell touch back on that after? And you know, creepy doll happens. It was actually Annabelle doll was a gift from the husband to the wife who was pregnant gave birth to her daughter, lay out in the character's name is.

And you know, creepy shit starts happening, demonic shit starts happening. You know, you find out the demon wants the soul of the baby. The mother's going to be willing to give her soul up and another mother comes in and saves the day. Kind of kills herself.

But it's all connected to the overall arching story of the, like pretty much the fascinating life of Ed and Lorraine Warren. That's who all this is kind of built around. These two parapsychologists or demonologists, let's say, I think Ed was more so than the marinamals. Paranormal investigators.

They're pretty much world famous by now because they did the Ambyville horror, which was actually mentioned in the beginning of Conjuring 2. And Annabelle for sure because they actually have the original Annabelle doll in a glass case that's unmoved in their trophy room of all these paranormal, yeah, they do take trophies. But I don't know if they call it trophies, but they're definitely don't. But artifacts.

I'm just trying to think I'm thinking back to the first conjuring when they're like going through the room. They have to care itself when the first conjuring and that's there. I can't remember what they call them, but yeah, we'll go with artifacts. That's probably the better phrase to say it.

But yeah, I mean, Ed and Lorraine Warren. Yeah, so they're definitely fascinating. I think it's Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson who portrayed them in the movies. They're not in this one because this one is this Annabelle creation is a prequel.

I have a timeline here actually James for all the movies that are up on the slate for this, this kind of franchise. It is a franchise. I think James Wan who's directing Aquaman with Jason Mone stuff after the DC universe, he actually helped kick this off quite a bit. He did conjuring and conjuring two, I believe.

He didn't do Annabelle or Annabelle two. Annabelle two was directed by David F Sandberg who's also going to have ties with the DC universe. He's directing or rooming to directing Shazam and that'll be interesting. So for the timeline here, Annabelle creation is set in first off.

It starts off like the opening couple scenes 1945. That's right. Yeah. We were thrown off by this time.

We were kind of if you chit chat about it after the movie when we got out of the theater like you normally do. We were just kind of trying to fit see where it fit in in relation to Annabelle and conjuring. Yeah. I don't think we're that bad.

We were in the ballpark. We were like literally within five years of the conjuring. Definitely. Yeah, sure.

Yeah. Yeah. So anyways, we're 1945 opening scenes 12 years later. Spooky shit happens.

So 1957. You're obviously 57. And then another 12 years later is when the original Annabelle happened. Yeah.

So that's 1969, 1970 kind of happens. Yeah. And then then then conjuring had to believe 12 years later conjuring. No, no, not 12 years later.

That's because it's different. Yeah, different. So with the Annabelle, what James just said at 12 years, that's what kind of theme was for all the paranormal shit that was happening. Yeah.

But with that particular. But conjuring happened in 1971. Yeah. So only two years after Annabelle.

That's right. Yeah. Once the Lorraine or the Warrens have more experience on that shit. Yeah.

And then conjuring two, that was just after the Ambyville horror kind of murders happened. So there was a 1976, 77. Yeah. And then we have a teaser here.

It's just announced or I think Sandio, comic-con had a theatrical trailer or teaser trailer. Yeah. I didn't see it yet. I haven't seen it either.

But it's going to be set you in 1952, five years before Annabelle creation. So the timeline for this is kind of all fucked. It's all over the place. But it's easy to follow.

Relatively. Yeah. I mean, it's pretty cut and dry once you actually. Especially now that this one, like with creation, it kind of boom, boom, boom.

It tells you 12 years later, and then 12 years later again. So I mean, that shit's easy to follow. And then you know that all that happened before the conjuring. Yeah, definitely.

Obviously the conjuring happened before conjuring too. But that back and forth kind of gets tiring after a little bit. Again. Yeah.

So the nun, she, that was like the ghost, the operation that was haunting the conjuring to and Lenfield, the Lenfield Poltergeist, something that's what they call it. And that was Lorraine Warren's or Vere Fermiga's characters kind of demon that was haunting her mostly. And we find out in this movie that a nun had certain connections with. But we'll circle back to this.

But James, you want to talk about the plot for Annabelle creation real quick before we dive in more about the critiquing of everything? Yeah. So essentially you have a small family. The father is a doll maker.

Um, the his name actually his actor name is Anthony, uh, La Paglia. He was he's been in, uh, I knew I fucking recognize him. It's he's from without a trace. Oh, yeah.

Cause that's kind of like, he's fucking familiar, but he can't listen to think. Yeah, I am to be told me. Yeah. Well, obviously.

But I was trying to figure that out too. And I know like, and at the start of the movie, he's happy. Cause you know, Jack's something. I don't know if I smashed my fucking truck yet.

But I'm so bad. And then, oh, yeah, it was very violent. Um, but then for the rest of the movie, he's kind of like even said during movie, like he's like creepy. Like he's not he's not he's not he's selling.

Yeah, he's very so. Yeah, he's very solid. But he's he's not meant to be part of the scare, but he's like, Oh, he makes you feel uncomfortable. He definitely adds to the environment of the house.

Yeah, very much. But anyways, I was like, yeah, fucking creeped out. So like that kind of distracted me from originally trying to be like, why do I know this guy? Why do I know this guy?

Why do I know this guy? I know this guy back to the plot, start off dad's doll maker, daughter, mother, uh, father on the way home from church. Boom, daughter gets fucking, fucking crushed the change to tire and this is all jumped onto the collective nut. Yeah, nut falls off into the middle of the road.

And like you see that there's a vehicle coming from a long way's way and it's fallen ass. And this is 45. But these things are made out of steel. There's anyways, that bug is not giving anything.

She instantly reacts. Oh, I got it one step over from behind the truck. Kaboom. She gets see you later, alligator.

She gets annihilated. She just got fucking sent, bro. So she's dead. Big time.

You're like, no doubt about it. It made me feel uncomfortable to like hear the noise of her. Yeah, I don't know. Remember that 180?

Like there's one lady way over the top, Chris is like, okay, you can leave now. Okay, so why don't you get this out of the way real quick? If you're in a fucking theater, okay, we all go to a horror movie to have fun, get the shit scared out. That's that's fun.

But if you're over dramatic and being a cunt about it and just screaming at the top of your lungs, there's a hard hard seat. If you're being a cunt about it and just you know, you know yourself, don't get the fuck out. Don't go to a theater. That's cool.

Go home. Like scream at home. It's one thing if you're screaming if you're the one fucking person that screams like an asshole. Have a stupid jump scare like a dumb jump scare?

Yeah, get out. So please, for example, perfect example. This wasn't even a scary thing or it wasn't really a jump. Like the daughter literally got hit by a truck.

There was no scare. You saw the truck coming. You knew it was going to happen because obviously the girl's name is Annabelle. Obviously she dies because you know, well, her name isn't Annabelle.

I'm the thinker. Her name is B. No, no, no. Her mom calls her Annabelle.

Oh, yeah. Okay. Yeah. Fuck me.

Okay. They call her B. You don't realize her name is Annabelle. She thought her mom calls her B for short.

Yeah. Anywho. Yeah. So you know, it's not a scary thing.

Like obviously it's allowed to violent and it's a shock, but it's not something that much of a shock. Okay. No, I didn't mean like it's a shock is like a shock. But the noise, the noise is like I'm more upset.

It's the first fucking two. It's very, it's very crisp. So yeah, and this lady screamed at the top of her lungs for like three seconds literally like three seconds and it wasn't a scary part. Like it wasn't a jump scare.

It wasn't anything. That's holding me right off the bat. Like, oh, here we go. Here we go.

A bunch of fucking noobs and there was a bunch of, yeah, we had a bad viewing experience based on the other people there. Yeah. Anyhow. And she was like that throughout the whole movie.

Every time there was like a legitimate jump scare she let out a very loud treat. You can like, to the point where people laughed at her because she was that obnoxious. Of course. Like it wasn't like it wasn't like it wasn't like it.

You're not genuinely scared when you do that. You're screaming to scream for scream. Yeah. Fuck you.

You know what? Whoever you are. Fuck you. Yeah.

So this is really distracting. I digress. That's all I'm going to say about the audience. Yeah.

No, you expect that at Hormuz. We don't expect that much. We had a very nice young couple sitting in front of us. They're excellent theater etiquette.

So whoever you are, props. Everyone else in theater. That's how you do it. Everyone else in theater.

Fuck you nailed it. Yeah. So back to the plot. Dard's dead.

Flash forward 12 years. Yeah. 1957. 1957.

Now we're in a bus from an orphanage, a girl's orphanage going out to the house. Yeah. Their orphanage got shut down. Their orphanage got relocated.

Being relocated. There's six girls plus a sister. Is this six? Is this the room before the two?

Math. And then the sister. Yeah. That's right.

And so our main character here is Janice. She has polio. She has she has one arm crotch and she's good. So there's two sisters.

There's Janice and Linda who are like the strong like they're the Olsen twins. Let's say they're technically not sisters. They're not sisters. They have a bond.

They have a bond. They have a bond. They also have two orphanages and they're like I swear if I get picked up first you're gonna come with me. I'm not going unless you don't get that.

So you're just really gonna get that sentimental value. We refer to Linda as Ducky because you're my just a ducky from the land before time. I told Janice like hey you're not you're like this girl. She's from she's done two other four movies.

Deliver us from evil with Eric Bennett and Edgar Ramirez. She's cute little blonde girl that's gonna start staring at you. And she's in Ouija who is the main antagonist. The second Ouija.

The second Ouija. The second Ouija. Stupid movies by the way. Don't go see all those dumb dumb.

But she's creepy as fuck but she's like the actual like the light of this movie. Yeah. She's very optimistic all the time. But she's like human for son of Cation of Ducky from Land of the Four times.

It's sort of fucking crazy. Yeah. It's also I think like she could be an Olsen sister. For sure.

Absolutely. Absolutely. Stay away from the drugs. Yeah.

So they move into this house. They meet the father. So he's kind of giving them a two of the house house creepy as fuck. But they're excited about it.

The girls are super excited about it. This is a mansion. It's a mansion. There's a big property.

They can explore. They can do you know the kids. They want to do the kids thing. So they're led to believe that the mother has had a terrible accident ex many years ago.

Yep. And so. It's 12. I don't know.

It happens to be 12. But she never leaves her fucking her. She's essentially. Bedridden.

Bedridden. Yes. They never played by Miranda Otto. Yeah.

She's actually she's done a bunch of shit. You might know her from such films as Lord of the Rings and Two Towers. Lord of the Rings return to King. She's on Netflix with the 2015 2016 movie Spectre.

I don't know if anyone saw that. I did. It wasn't that great. Whatever.

She's a fan favorite for this kind of like genre. She's good. Yeah. She's good.

But yeah. You don't really know what that is. No. Until later.

Until later. But you don't know if she's like fucking crippled or she's handicapped now. It's insane. Whatever.

It's insane. You don't know. She's just shock. She'll shock essentially.

But anyhow. So she's bedridden. No big deal. You don't really see too much of her.

But until later on the movie. So you hold on over the second half. Second half? Thank you.

That's our first pun today. Yeah. So they move into the house. Some spooky shit starts happening.

There's the room upstairs. The room upstairs is old room. Yeah. It's bees old room.

And it's it's locked. I can't get in there. The dad goes. This room is always locked.

I'm going there. Fuck off. I mean obviously it's fucking locked. Yeah.

Thanks, dick. But yeah. He's like that's the only room. Don't ever fucking go in here.

It's locked. blah blah blah blah. It's like the first or second night. It's probably the second night.

I don't know. I can't remember this night. You don't really know. Yeah.

Anyhow. So during one of the nights Janice, she wakes up. She can't sleep. She's uncomfortable.

She walks up to the door and then all of a sudden. Boom. I know. I know.

That's right. So she's in her bedroom. I know it gets slipped under the door which is throwback Thursday to the opening scenes. Annabelle used to be hiding secret to dad.

And she's just leave him notes and be like, fine me. And then you're closer, whatever. And then I found you. Like Courtney Bullshame your foot.

So anyways, this note gets slid under Janice's door. So she says, find me. So she's like, okay, who the fuck is it? Oh, she opens her door and she walks into the hallway and the room is next to Ann Bell's whole room.

And she's kind of standing in front of the door and then boom. Another note slides under the door in here. Yeah. It says in here.

And then the door is obviously locked. Do we hear it unlocked? I think we hear it unlocked. Anyway, she opens the door.

There are certain things in this movie that aren't too clear. Like there's certain visual hints and like, you know, it's an old fucking 1940s door handle. So it's kind of here unlocked. But then it's not like I heard it's five minutes later.

This dumb bitch is asking the worst questions behind it. It's two words behind it. Throw back again. It's me off.

It's like, how about the door was locked? Oh my god. Yeah. If you're close your eyes all the time.

Open your ears. Oh my god. Yeah. So we got the first doors unlocked.

She goes in. Oh, super spooky shit. There's a little doll house. That's exactly right.

Look at the house. She's looking in there. She opens up a closet in the room that she's actually standing in. And there is a key.

Scrabs key. Looks over at the bottom closet. Opens up on closet. And the Annabelle doll is sitting in the room locked.

She's in the closet, which is locked inside of the locker room. Full of Bible scripture. Yeah. Covering head to toe.

Bible scripture. There's crosses. So you're like, God damn what the fuck. One thing I will commend this movie in Annabelle, the first one.

They make this doll spooky as fuck. Unfucking settling. It is the original doll. If you actually see the doll in Edelarine's or yeah, Edelarine's showcase, let's say, it's just a it's a raggedy ant.

They make this fun porcelain and just I would not give this doll to any fucking girl ever. It's creepy as fuck. And the dad made it. The dad made it.

He was number one. He was like, Oh, they're gonna pop their dolls or sell these hotcakes. Sell these like hotcakes. But it's so unsettling in itself.

The cheeks and the eyes are with fucks. I don't know why the cheeks can't do it. Can't do it. And a fan of porcelain dolls begin with.

Nope. Fucking throw back to Slappy Goosebumps baby. The old, uh, the old, uh, what do you call those? The ventriloquist dolls.

Oh, ventriloquist. It's like Slappy Four. How good of ventriloquist is and what they do. Like Jeff doing hilarious creepy as fuck.

Yep. Get the fuck out. 100%. If I find that staring at me in my bed, I'm burning something out.

I'm stopping it. I'm about supernatural. I'm salting it burn the bones and burn the machine on fire. I'm gonna go out some rage.

I'm gonna punch it to the living first. Maybe put it in a fucking camara snap. It's arm on long story short. Do a total blow to me out.

I'm gonna pull out. What's is that? What's the enemy fire? This rips fucking knees apart and he got suspended for a couple of times.

Oh, I know he's like, he's do you do you do you do you do tokes. Yeah, he looks. Yeah, yeah. Yeah.

I'm gonna do that to the doll. Oh, yeah. But yeah, long story short. So this doll she happens.

Dennis gets finds this doll and she's the one that experiences the crazy shit first. She lets it out. She lets it out. The demon gets out the the ram I guess you can call it demon.

And and that's when it starts happening her crazy shit. She's kind of demony stuff happening and Linda kind of essentially being targeted. She's being targeted. She's the weakest.

She has polio. She's the weakest. You know, she's Christ. She's fans.

That's not good. Fake news. What is real news? Janice gets targeted or she gets targeted.

She's gonna see some shit too. But that's only after Janice gets fully possessed. So she gets dropped from the fucking ceiling down three stories essentially. I thought she was fucking dead.

I thought she's already got fucking polio and then she gets dropped fucking 40 feet. Yeah, kids there's a million. I mean, yeah, but 40 fucking feet. Holy.

Oh, God damn it. She got a real face. That's it. Well, and she's in a fucking wheelchair.

She can't walk at all. Okay, she has brittle bones in the right side of her body. She gets fucked up. So she anyways, next thing she comes back wheelchair, she's all Gucci.

The girl's like, Oh my God, yeah, good. And then she gets fucked up again in the old shed where the dad just makes dolls. Let's let's precursor that. How does she get in there?

She's like, Oh, then the nun, the nun, the nun, all the other girls are outside. They're playing by the big ass or no button on the tree in the yard. Yeah. So sister, I'm not really sure.

Charlotte. I think so. We're gonna go with it. For now, sister see she wheels Janice outside on the wheelchair leaves her by the tree.

And then the dad is in town doing air and whatever they don't clarify. The mom rings the bell. So sister Charlotte, nice. Back check.

Sister Charlotte. Here's the bell. She has to run back inside to the 10 probably grab her water. Whatever happens right instantly after she gets inside.

All you see is you don't see the head but you see like the bottom half of a nun. It's not is obviously the fucking spooky nun from the conjuring to and it's gonna have her own movie part of the series. Fucking grabs her. Great hands and just fucking full sprint.

Hulk smashes her into the fucking shed. And then door closed. Yeah, door closed. More spooky happens.

And go just calm the demon in her mouth. Yeah, the demon. The demon comes bottom in her mouth. She's possessed.

She's absolutely possessed. But she can walk. She can walk again. She's healed.

Strong as walk. Demon's. Now, a bunch of spooky should happen. More spooky should happen.

No, she has to kill everyone. I mean, we got a lot into the plot here so far. We got to the climax and that's all building up to the climax. You know it's going to be.

There's always a heavy climax in these movies. And then it's a lot of jump scares. This movie is jumps. Good jumpscares.

Very quality jumpscares. I was kind of laughing. You know, you liked it. I know you liked it.

I liked some of them. So yeah, see that's where I'm out with you. There's really good jumpscares and then anything that involves the demon as looking like the demon is not good. Terrible.

But anything when it's just the girls or like, you know, getting spooked if you don't see the demon because the demon looks so mad. We love this. Like we like the series. We like the series.

Conjuring more so than the animals. Yes, correct. But as whole, good, good horse series. There's not a lot of horror series in general.

And the ones that are mainstream horror. Let's clarify that. Main stream horror. And there's not a lot of good ones.

And this is definitely all the movies have done well. They're multi-millionaires. They're good movies. And they're low budget.

So they're making their super low budget on this. They're good movies. Really good jumpscares. Worst demon I've ever seen in my life.

And it spawns back from sponsoring from the first country. Conjuring and it comes back to the none actually is a good design because that's creepy as fuck. The non angelic. The non is creepy.

The girl is fucking creepy. But when she starts going demon mode on you, that steps back to animal one. You look stupid. The ram would say.

Yeah. He's doing this whole like in one of the scene of the shed. Like I like it when it's like body horror when he's like coming out of the scarecrow and stuff. They have a lot of cool body horror.

Like with the bones cracking and that. That's cool. Keep that. Don't let me see the face of the fucking demon.

Look shitty. Bring him down from the top of the shed. Coming down like fucking spider man. Up side down.

Like his knees were bent. He's looking better at grace. His hand was down. Like he was in that spidey pose where he always like comes down from.

Yeah. His feet are connected to the spider web. He's coming down like it looked bad. We'd be both lagged.

Kinda like I don't want to say ruin the movie but had there been. It takes you out of it. Had I been a lot less. I'm sure some people see the demon.

It's so scary but god no. If you took the demon out of it, like you just ruined that scare for me. People less is more. Especially now.

We don't necessarily need to see the bullshit. Use your imagination. Exactly. It's scary as you're gonna let it be scary.

This movie does well because you picture something so much worse when you see that. Fuck. This just looks like a guy fucking grown on blackface. If I saw that demon in my bedroom, yeah.

Oh yeah. You gotta fuck. I will come out you with a pair of fucking nail clippers and I will salt you. Yeah.

God damn. I'll chop you up. But stupid demon. Bitch.

I'll kick you in the fucking deck. We'll see you like you like it. Fucking beat a bunch of people in the face. So the ending it builds up quite nicely and like there's a chase scene for all the kids.

Let's talk about the kids though because there's a lot of girls here. I thought there gonna be a lot of them being dead. Well dead but like fodder. Yeah.

You see a horror movie and like I guess it's a ghost kind of paranormal. You're a you're a relevant. You're a kind of a relevant. You're a you're a and then you have a supporting actress.

Yeah. No, they all kind of there's there's not significant but they just run around like groups with their heads cut off and like I'd rather see them with their heads cut off. Yeah. For sure.

I thought at least one of them was gonna die for sure. Like there's a black girl. You don't even know her name. That's typical horror movie death.

Nope. You didn't die. No. Uh fucking Linda.

We're like she's that brochure because she was getting up in the spooky shit trying to investigate by herself. She was trying to come out this demon with a fucking uh with a fucking like ping pong launcher with a ball attached to it. Yeah. That was pretty funny.

And like I like that because it's a kid's sensibility thing. It's like like oh yeah I'm gonna fuck this bitch Yeah. That's all for tech. Like under the cover stuff.

Like I like that because it's the childhood innocence. Yeah. Which is fine. You know hiding the covers and she just but we for sure thought that she was gonna get fucked up.

That chance we got fucked up. Wait a minute. Someone was gonna get fucked up. One of the the horny older girls we get fucked up.

Yeah. They have a spooky moment and something like that. That's cool. But they don't get fucked up.

They don't get fucked up. No one gets fucked up other than the actual parents like the the original the OG parents uh without a trace dude and Miranda Otto. Yeah. They get fucked up real good.

That is cool. That is cool. That is cool. Among the mom gets humbled.

Old country way. She had a fucking back broken. She was humbled big Oh it wasn't just broken. She was split in half.
